Delhi is taking a greener step as NDMC transforms ordinary waste into something valuable. Under the leadership of Sh. Keshav Chandra, IAS, Chairperson NDMC, segregated wet waste and horticulture waste are being sustainably converted into organic compost at multiple locations across the city.
Today, around 1,000 kilograms of nutrient-rich compost prepared at the High-Tech Nursery, Chanakyapuri, was distributed among NDMC staff at Palika Kendra. This initiative not only supports eco-friendly waste management but also encourages a sense of collective responsibility among employees and residents.
By turning waste into compost, NDMC is providing a natural, chemical-free resource for plants and gardens while reducing landfill pressure. The program also demonstrates how everyday waste, when managed smartly, can contribute to a greener and healthier city.
Such initiatives are part of NDMC’s broader vision for sustainable urban living, combining cleanliness, horticulture, and innovative resource management. Residents and staff alike are being inspired to adopt environmentally friendly practices, making Delhi not just cleaner, but also greener and more resilient for the future.
Through efforts like these, NDMC is showing that small steps in waste management can lead to a big impact on the environment.
