Couple's wedding invite inspired by Rahul Gandhi's 'Bharat Jodo Yatra' goes viral

A couple has found a unique way to celebrate their love and diversity by taking inspiration from Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's Bharat Jodo Yatra. Abhilasha Kotwal, from Jammu and Bengal, and Vinal William, with roots in Punjab and Kerala, have named their wedding "Bharat Jodo Vivah" to honor India's rich cultural tapestry.

Their wedding invite proudly introduces them as the "daughter of Jammu and Bengal" and the "son of Punjab and Kerala", sending a strong message of unity. The couple even invited Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra to bless their union, tagging them in a post that said: "When your wedding is more diverse than a coalition government, you know it's truly special!"

Abhilasha hand-delivered the invite to the Gandhi family, which came with chocolates and a mini copy of the Indian Constitution. She expressed how their marriage embodies the spirit of "Bharat Jodo", calling it a celebration of love that transcends boundaries and faiths.

The wedding invitation quickly went viral, with social media users praising the couple's tribute to India's diversity and Rahul Gandhi's movement. One commenter remarked, "Your hearts matched, and that's what matters most!"

Interestingly, this invitation also has a personal connection to the Gandhi family, as Abhilasha's mother had designed Priyanka Gandhi’s wedding invite years ago.

The Bharat Jodo Yatra, which aimed to unite the country and tackle societal divisions, became a significant movement in 2022-2023, and this wedding invite serves as a beautiful extension of that message.
