The much-anticipated film Hera Pheri 3 has hit a major roadblock. Actor Paresh Rawal, best known for his iconic role as Baburao, recently announced his exit from the project, leading to a legal standoff.
According to a report by Hindustan Times, Akshay Kumar's production company, Cape of Good Films, has issued a legal notice demanding ₹25 crore in damages, accusing Rawal of backing out after signing the contract and beginning the shoot. He was reportedly being paid over three times his standard fee.
The notice claims Rawal's sudden departure caused financial losses and betrayed fan trust, as he had already confirmed his participation publicly and filmed portions including a teaser. The production alleges Rawal acted in bad faith by withdrawing without prior warning.
Rawal denied rumors of creative or monetary disputes, asserting on X (formerly Twitter) that he holds deep respect for director Priyadarshan and that money was not the issue.
With filming already underway, fans are left disappointed and wondering if the beloved character Baburao will return or be replaced.
